Design
1.How can l decide on my packaging dimension?
Measurement Guideline: · Box Size: Determined by internal dimensions to ensure a correct fit. · Your Role: Provide the exact dimensions of your product. · Our Role: We recommend the optimal box size based on your input.
2.What is a die-line and why is it important?
Understanding the Die-Line: Your Packaging Blueprint · What it is: A die-line is the template that defines all precise cuts and folds for your packaging. · Why it matters: It provides the essential instructions for our machines to manufacture your box accurately. · Our service: We create a complimentary die-line based on your final size. Your design is applied to this template, and the approved version is used for sampling and mass production.
3.Can l order multiple artworks at the same size and specifications?
Yes, we frequently combine multiple artworks in a single production run. This is a key part of our strategic approach to minimize expenses and achieve the best value for our clients.
4.How do l place my artwork on the die-line you provided?
Placing your artwork on the die-line is a straightforward process. Here's how to do it: 1. Use the Layers: Open the die-line file (usually an AI or PDF). You should find the die-line on a separate, named layer (e.g., "Die-Line" or "Template"). 2. Set as a Template: Place this die-line layer on top of your artwork file and set it as a template layer or reduce its opacity to around 20%. This allows you to see the guidelines clearly while you work on your design beneath it. 3. Align Your Artwork: Carefully position all your design elements (images, text, logos) within the safe areas, ensuring they do not extend beyond the cut lines unless intended for a bleed effect. 4. Outline Text: For best results, convert all text to outlines (paths) to prevent font issues when we open the file. Pro Tip: Always keep the die-line layer visible and unlocked, but avoid altering any of its lines.
5.How do l prepare files for print?
Artwork File Requirements: · Format: Submit files in AI, PDF, or EPS format for optimal compatibility. · Color Mode: All artwork must be set to CMYK color space. · Text: Convert all text to outlines (curves) to preserve font integrity. · Black: Use a flat 100% K value for all black elements to ensure richness and avoid ghosting. · Images: Embed all linked images and patterns into the final file. · Template: Do not flatten, resize, or alter the provided die-line template. · Special Finishes: For UV, foiling, or embossing/debossing, please provide the corresponding design elements as separate vector layers.
6.What is CMYK printing?
Crucial Pre-press Step: Convert to CMYK · What is CMYK? It stands for Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Key (Black). This is the standard 4-color printing process used in packaging. · Why does it matter? Designs are often created in RGB (for screens), but printers use CMYK inks. The two color models do not match perfectly. · The Result? Submitting an RGB file will lead to noticeable color shifts in your final printed boxes. Converting your artwork to CMYK beforehand ensures color accuracy.
7.What is the 'PMS Color' option and do l need it?
About Pantone Colors (PMS): · What it is: The Pantone Matching System (PMS) is a standardized system that uses numbered codes to ensure color accuracy against a physical swatch. · When to use it: Ideal for projects where achieving a specific, consistent brand color is critical. · Important note: The use of Pantone colors requires specialized color matching and incurs an additional fee.
8.What is a Surface Finishing?
Surface Finishing: The Final Touch · Purpose: An optional enhancement that adds luxury and distinction to printed packaging. · Effect: Creates standout visual and tactile appeal. · Examples: Spot UV, Foil Stamping, Embossing, Window Patching, Soft-Touch Coating, and more.
